Dr. Janice Geneva Matthews received her degrees in social work & sports psychology from the University of Michigan- MSW (Ann Arbor) and Columbia University- Ph.D. (New York City). She trained and worked with the legendary
Vic Braden; and has conducted her own private practice in counseling, mediation & psychotherapy in the Chicago area for over 30 years. She has worked with touring tennis professionals, elite tennis juniors, and NBA sports teams.

Mel Phillips, Jr., received Masters Degrees Chicago State University (Social Work) and Concordia University Chicago (Educational Leadership). He is a board-certified life coach [Life Coaching Board Certification] from the Center for Credentialing & Education. Mel’s competitive sports experience has included baseball, basketball, bowling and tennis. After competing in NCAA Div I (Howard University) and NAIA (Chicago State) tennis, Mel obtained Tennis Teaching Pro certifications from PTR and USPTA. He has also served as a Tennis Director, high school, collegiate and private coach.

Dr. Gail Grabcynski earned her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Masters degree in the Science of Organizational Leadership, and a Ph.D. from Olivet Nazarene University. She has worked extensively with the NFL, assisting in the development of the “Rookie Success Program.” She has her own private practice; many of her clients are professional athletes in a variety of sports- football, soccer, basketball, and wrestling (as well as the coaching staff.) She uses her expertise to assist with the unique stresses & challenges of the elite athlete.

Ed Cruzat received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Howard University where he played NCAA Division I Tennis. He also competed for the University of Cincinnati, where he qualified for the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships (Doubles); he later became a touring tennis professional. He is a certified member of the International Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and Head Coach of High School Tennis Teams. He has also served as a Club Tennis Pro, Tennis Director at Tennis Corporation of America (TCA) and private tennis coach.
